Location: Monterrey, NL (local candidates only)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 – 16:00
Work model: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days home office – non-negotiable)

Important:
This is a hands-on SRE role focused on application performance, monitoring, and system reliability.
This is NOT a pure software development role.
Only candidates currently based in Monterrey and the metropolitan area will be considered.
No relocation support is provided.
No students.

About the role:
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with experience in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) to support the reliability, scalability, and performance of NOV’s critical applications.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design monitoring strategies, analyze system performance, and proactively identify issues before they impact users.

Key responsibilities:
Design and implement APM strategies using tools such as Elastic APM, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, or similar.
Perform performance analysis across applications and infrastructure, identifying bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
Build dashboards and alerting systems using tools like Grafana, Kibana, or similar.
Monitor system health and proactively detect performance issues and failures.
Support incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
Define and track SLOs and SLAs to improve system reliability.
Automate monitoring and operational tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve observability, reliability, and performance practices.

Required experience:
4–6 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or performance engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with APM or observability tools (Elastic, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, etc.).
Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems.
Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
Experience working in production environments and handling incidents.
Fluent English required (global collaboration).

Preferred:
Experience with Elastic Stack (ELK).
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
Knowledge of SRE practices, observability, and system reliability principles.
